Welcome back to the new week! Sorry, it took so long for me to update the website. I have been busy with summer camp and stuff. This week, I'll be reviewing some post-apocalyptic books. Max Brooke's World War Z, and Suzanne Collins's The Hunger Games.

World War Z

World War Z, by Max Brookes, is a pretty decent post apocalyptic book although a little gory and intense. It is set in the very near future, when a zombie disease breaks out all over the world. There is nothing new with this story, but Max Brookes has added a few little quirks that make it extremely cool. It has a kind of 2012 like feel, full of Government cover-ups and conspiracies, and of course plenty of zombies killing helpless innocents. The book is written in a new way. The supposed author, after the zombie war, or world war z, travels around the globe to interview people involved in the war, and through these interviews we can piece together the plot. Like I said earlier, its gory, but that much is expected in zombie novels. I want to read the novel robopocalypse, and having heard this is similar, picked it up at the library. I suggest you do that too, instead of wasting, ok I won't say waste it's a decent book,   spending your money on this book. 3 out of five stars.

The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins book is a master piece among the other junk of post apocalyptic fiction. The book is obviously set in the future, but a very unique one. The country of America has crumbled and a new empire risen within its borders, called panem. At the center of panem is the Capitol, the capitol city ruling over twelve "districts". Years ago the districts formed a rebellion against the capitol but lost, and as part of the surrender terms, the people of each district must send two of their children into the capitol to compete in the hunger games, a fight to the death where all the children from the districts must against each other until one is left standing. The book centers around Katniss, a sixteen year old who volunteers to go to the Hunger games in place of her younger sister. This book, although somewhat predictable, ( I predicted perfectly what was going to happen at the end.), is a very compelling and immersing read, and left me hungering for more. thankfully, there are two other books in the series. I coudn't put this book down and I stayed up reading until 2:00 in the morning to get done. I highly reccomend reading it. 5 out of five stars.

As soon as I can get hold of the republic commandos series, they will be reviewed. I am currently on hold for a few other requests. Keep Reading!
